Step 1 - Setting up your GUI

Create a new project and call it "MP3 Player" or whatever you wish. File -> New -> Flex Project

Drag a panel onto your document. This is where we will store all the buttons and information.

Give your panel a title, for example, MP3 Player. An ID won't be necessary for now.

I would recommend using some layout constraints to get your panel right in the middle of the page.

Now that we have our basic panel setup, lets begin adding the other components.

Drag a Combo Box onto the document. This will be the song list. Give it and ID of "cbxMusic".

Now put 5 buttons in the panel. These will be the Next, Previous, Stop, Play, and Pause buttons. Of course you could use images but this just saves time.

And thats it!

Your GUI is now complete!

I can't run this aplication.
error:

great man , mp3 player is working fine in my end, but animated bar is not showing in end

You're going to have to set it up on your own server first, then include the swf onto your myspace page.

You could then use this code -

Hey I made a folder in my public_html called mp3 then just uploaded all the files into it... then tried to view it haha that didnt work.. so tried some other things like creating an index.htm page inside the mp3 folder and I couldn't get it.. it seemed to load the background but nothing else loaded.. and I do have Flash 9 =D thats the first thing I made sure I had.

Hey man great job! I tried out this tutorial but seem to be stuck at how to get it up on the net... (Im a complete noob to flex just want to try to get into it) I uploaded all the files but it doesn't show anything.. help! lol

that helps alot but is there a way to separate array for each song the title artist and other info so that they fall in their own column? thats the hard part.

If you mean that the user selects a song to play from a datagrid then this might help -
http://livedocs.macromedia.com/flex/2/langref/mx/controls/DataGrid.html
So you would add this to the event itemFocusIn -
aMusic.setSong(dg.selectedItem.data);

data being a number of course that you have in your datagrid, there should be a way to make it not visible.
